Triumph Dining recently tried another great gluten-free beer and we were very impressed! Harvester Brewing is a dedicated gluten-free brewery in South East Portland so there is no threat of cross contamination. Ingredients for their beers are sourced locally and everything is naturally gluten-free.
Harvester’s approach to making great tasting gluten-free beer is “don’t start with what you don’t want.” To do this, they use naturally gluten-free ingredients rather than starting with gluten-containing grains and removing the gluten. I think this is a great approach as it leaves me confident that their beer is safe for celiacs to drink.
Their IPA has a piney, citrusy, flavor, made from chestnuts, certified gluten-free oats and organic tapioca maltodextrin. The Pale Ale is handcrafted from chestnuts, sorghum, oats and pure cane sugar. The Red Ale is made with a medium dark roast of chestnuts, as well as oats, cane sugar and sorghum. The Dark Ale uses very dark chestnuts to give it a roasty flavor.
Check out their website for more information and click the ‘Where To Buy’ tab for details on where to get your hands on some of this tasty gluten-free beer!
Have you tried Harvester? Are you a fan?
