Festive Gluten Free Cocktails | Triumph Dining Holiday Week

coladaI’m generally a wine or hard cider drinker but when the festive season and family arrive, it’s fun to create tasty mixed drinks. My mom and I both like sweet, fruity cocktails the most and I plan to make and enjoy a few of these this Christmas.

Pina coladas are one of my favorite mixed drinks and I thought this recipe from Eating Well sounded like an interesting way to change things up a bit. This Passion Colada substitutes pineapple juice for passion fruit juice to give your colada a different kind of fruity kick. The best news – it takes all of five minutes to prepare.


  • 2 cups ice
  • 1 cup passion fruit juice
  • 1/4 cup cream of coconut
  • 3 ounces rum



Combine ice, passion fruit juice, cream of coconut and rum in a blender and blend until smooth.

Fruity wine-based cocktails are another family favorite of ours and this Taste.com recipe for Pomegranate Berry Sparkling sounds delightful!



  • 300g pkt frozen raspberries, thawed
  • 2 1/2 tbs caster sugar
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) pomegranate juice
  • 2 x 750ml btls chilled sparkling wine
  • 125g punnet fresh raspberries



Divide the frozen raspberries and sugar among serving glasses, using a fork to lightly crush. Divide the pomegranate juice evenly among the glasses. Top with sparkling wine. Serve with fresh raspberries.
