Winter Brews | Triumph Dining

photoThere’s nothing like a good winter brew to pair with holiday meals, especially for New Years Eve. With celiac and gluten sensitivities, it can be tricky to find ample choices. Here are a few of our favorites for your enjoyment this holiday season and into the winter months.

  • Crispin Hard Cider – A medium bodied, semi fruity and semi dry cider that is just sweet enough to delight, Crispin has become a fast favorite of mine. I highly recommend this cider. Crispin offers a variety of choose from but the original is top notch.
  • Redbridge – A smooth but robust beer, Redbridge doesn’t disappoint. I can’t quite pinpoint what it is about this one, but it has a unique taste that would garner it a top pick even if I weren’t drinking gluten-free.
  • Woodchuck Winter – What a funky, unique cider. There is a hint of vanilla and spice and it tends to stand out greater when the cider is not ice cold. All in all, the most interesting cider I’ve ever tasted.
  • Green’s – Green’s Tripel Blonde Ale is a smooth brew with a slight bite. For me it was a winner as it reminded me very much of Stella Artois. A wonderful choice.

  1. Harvester Brewing based out of Portland, Oregon has a fantastic selection! 100% dedicated gluten free brewery. I love their IPA #2 and #3, the squash ale was great too, and they had a sour beer recently too.

  2. Redbridge beer is crap. We have tried about 30 gluten free beers ONLY ONE is worth drinking and actually tastes like real beer: It is Daura. Made in Europe and is excellent. Take this from a long time beer loving & beer drinker.
