Namaste Brownie MixNo matter what you’re allergic to or what your diet requires, Namaste Foods has a baking mix for you. Namaste Foods prides themselves on making “worry-free products”. Their facilities contain no wheat, gluten, corn, soy, potato, dairy, peanuts or tree nuts in attempts to eliminate any chance of cross-contamination. They also use no genetically modified ingredients and all of their products are Kosher Certified. From Bread Mixes to Pizza Crust, Cookies to Mac and Cheese, Cakes to Broccoli Cheddar Soup, this company has a wide variety of products that are safe and natural.

If you have not tried their Brownie Mix, I suggest pointing your browser to their website and ordering some. A simple list of ingredients (Evaporated Cane Juice, Sweet Brown Rice Flour, Dutch Cocoa, Tapioca Flour, Arrowroot Flour, Salt, and Xanthan Gum) makes these guilt-free brownies the stuff that dreams are made of: just add eggs, oil, and water! (If you don’t or can’t eat eggs, their website has a few suggestions for replacements in the FAQ section).

The brownies are really easy to make, just add ingredients, stir and bake. As someone who always manages to burn brownies, I have found that pouring the batter into a muffin or mini-muffin tin works wonders and pre-portions out this chocolate treat.

I think the best part about Namaste Foods mixes is that they don’t short you on the actual mix. One package makes two pans, or one really big pan so if you have a child with celiac, you can easily make it up for the class party and no one has to miss out on the fun. Chances are, none of the kids will even notice these are the gluten-freebrownies because they look and taste just like traditional ones with a slightly crunchy crust and a gooey chocolate center. Sometimes I even throw in a handful of mini chocolate chips just to give them a little something special. Plus, throwing one in your kid’s lunch as a special after-meal treat will all but ensure you’ll pick them up from school to a monster-sized hug.

Also, another thing I noticed is that these brownies don’t dry up like some allergen-safe mixes. These brownies stay moist, even if you made too many and have to freeze them for a week or two and then defrost them (and maybe even heat them up a bit).

While the Namaste Mixes cost more than your run-of-the-mill, supermarket brownie mix, they are significantly less expensive than some of their gluten-free counterparts and you can buy in bulk online! I’ve found it handy to always have a package on hand, just in case..
